Bison Transport's Driver Finishing Program (DFP) is an excellent opportunity for people to start in the transportation industry as a Professional Driver. The program was established to assist developing Drivers who have successfully obtained their Class 1/AZ License. The program also applies to Drivers who have previously obtained their Class 1/AZ License but have limited experience.
Position Highlights
That number is back up to 400,000, according to the National Bison Association, with 90% on North American ranches to support a $350 million/year bison meat industry. The effort to sustain the population’s growth requires genetic diversity, which in turn necessitates the relocation of bison throughout the year.
- Bison Transport is a full truckload irregular route carrier operating throughout Canada and the Continental United States, excluding Alaska.
Candidate Profile
- Have completed a recognized training program and obtained their full Class 1/AZ
- Have held a valid Canadian Class 5/G Drivers license for a minimum of 1 year.
- Must be able to enter the United States and have necessary border crossing documents.
- Have no preventable accidents within the past year and no more than 2 moving violations within the past 2 years.
- Must be willing to commit to 2 years of cross border work, meeting expectations that we have for our Canada/US Long Haul Company Drivers (Able to run 5-7 days per trip, available for dispatch 24 days out of the month for day, evening, night, weekend and holiday runs)
Compensation
- First 13 weeks with an In Cab Instructor, you are paid a base salary.
- Once you have successfully move to next stages of training, you move to full rate per mile, with some mileage and US state restrctions.
- Slip seat or assigned truck options.
